Celebrating Heritage Journeys launch at International Women’s Day event, 5th March 2026

FSWC International Women’s Day event on 5th March 2026 brought together many people from all walks of life in our community to celebrate the achievements, resilience and contributions of women around the world. Together, we aim to inspire connection, empowerment and action in support of women everywhere.

It was a perfect opportunity to formally launch our Heritages Journeys Project, its website and a pilot exhibition of the portraits, honouring women’s stories of courage, movement and resilience told in their own words. Through the project we want to connect with the women, their memories and recollection of their heritage and explore the importance of culture, history and traditions. We will explore how these have been retained, lost or diminished since arrival in Mid-Ulster and reflect on how these traditions have evolved in their new country.

What a great time everyone had captured so perfectly in this video! Thank you to everyone who attended and made our launch so very special.
