The Heritage Journeys project brings together stories, memories and traditions

Stories, memories and traditions shared by migrant women who have made Mid-Ulster their home. While each story is unique, common threads connect them — experiences of faith, family, food, education, community and home.

Our themes help you explore these shared threads. They highlight the traditions women carried with them, the customs they have adapted, and the new practices they have created in response to life in a new place. Within each theme you will find stories of resilience, identity and belonging — revealing how intangible cultural heritage continues to evolve across generations and borders.
